The other day I was reading my friend Rosie's gorgeous blog, Notions, and was truly inspired to read of her generous donation to CARE Australia. This year I've decided to do the same....I'm a true believer in that you give and get back, and it is something I've always preached to my children...
This year as part of our children's Christmas gifts I have chosen to give to a community that may not necessarily have the little things that we take so easily for granted...And I'm not talking TV's or IPODS!...I'm referring to the simple things such as fresh water. For my gift I chose to give fresh water to a family and a first aid kit to a community...
Not sure exactly how the kiddies will react to this idea, however, I am determined that our children will grow up knowing how important it is to give to others and that it may not always come back to you in a material form, but it will come back to you.....xx
I "give" my sister & BIL ducks from oxfam - or chooks - or last year it was a goat :)for christmas. Knowing how much we benefit from our few hens, I can imagine how far this type of gift goes in a less advantaged family.
