Daylesford Highlight!!....

Well, as I had mentioned the other day,our holiday to Daylesford was fabulous!! The highlight for me however?... I met DAVID BROMLEY!! Who is David Bromley some may ask?...He is an amazing Australian artist, whose work I have admired for many, MANY years..

I believe he has two very distinctive styles. One is creating images of children, the likes of which have jumped straight out of the pages of vintage story books and the other style, his sensuous, larger than life, waist up nudes...I LOVE both! I one day aspire to have a David Bromley painting in my home but at this stage I don't think I will ever be able to afford one! ...To be honest though I didn't even realise he had a studio at Daylesford, so you can imagine my excitement when we discovered it!!

At the time of our visit his studio,"A Day on Earth" was in shambles { they were currently rearranging}, needless to say though I did not care. I was in absolute awe of his collection of works {paintings and sculptures} and vintage paraphernalia.

I must say we felt like we were treated like royalty whilst we were there and he even let us into his private space to have a look! It was fantastic! I was like a starstruck teen and I know Tony was feeding off my excitement also...:)

Just above the blue painting on the bus you can see a shadow inside..That's David!! {hehe}

*sigh*...I could go on and on but I don't like to bore you with too much of my personal ramblings... If however you would like to know and see more of David's work, as well as take a glimpse into his INCREDIBLE Chapel street studio, I stumbled across an interview with David here.....In the meantime I'll just go back to manifesting a David Bromley to hang upon my walls.....

{ PS.} and thank you to Tim Clarkson for being so lovely...you guys made my holiday :)

Sun shine on my Face...

As I sit here watching the afternoon slipping away, the last rays of sun casting long shadows on the road outside, I couldn't help but post these beautiful images...There is nothing like sitting back, closing your eyes and feeling the sun shining on your face....

Have a lovely weekend x

Delightful Daylesford

Our holiday was wonderful! Daylesford ticked the boxes in every way however, if I can make one suggestion...If you wish to shop, do not go mid week as everything is closed! I had to be content with peering through windows as I longed to step inside the likes of "Lark" and "Quirky Hollows"...*sigh* Needless to say though the sleepy mid week life of Daylesford forced us to completely relax and we were compelled {! yeah right } to enjoy the cafe culture instead.... :)

This is where we stayed...

Ruby's Amethyst Cottage....
Mud brick, wood fire...totally cosy!!!

This is where we ate...

Ego's culinaria...These guys win the "friendly" service award! Beautiful Chai, lovely music and smiley people......
OUR FAVOURITE WAS THE!!.......
Red Star Cafe!!....Best risotto, BEST hot chocolate, cosy wood fire...

Frangos Frangos ......
Again lovely people, amazing wood fire pizza....
Amazing wood fire......

With an eclectic charm that made you feel like you could have been sitting anywhere in the world....

And the highlight of the trip? So as not to bore you I shall save that for another day...:)

Stay warm xx

Girl Crush...

I know there are many out there {myself included!} that are absolutely besotted with the Australian series "OFFSPRING". The lovable character of Nina Proudman {played by the beautiful Asher Keddie} is one that I can truly relate to! As I sit here asking and answering questions in my own head {!}, I'm sure that everybody may see a little of Nina in themselves at times? One thing I do know for certain is Nina is inspiring and influencing women all over with her beautiful bohemian style...

The one thing I love about Nina's "look" is that it is very achievable! Sure,I understand that her ability to "throw" things together and look fabulous doesn't always work in real life. There are days when I have stood in front of the mirror and my over "layering" has left me resembling the likes of a coat rack! This is when my favourite mantra comes into play..."less is more". I always remember reading, before you leave the house, take one last look and then remove an accessory...{and no..that does not mean leaving your partner at home!}.

I love that Nina does the scarf thingy! I LOVE scarfs! I have many! For that reason you will always find a beautiful scarf at Nest. Another of Nina's accessories that is creating quite a stir is her absolutely GORGEOUS "Nancy Bird" bag. "Nancy Bird" is another brand that you will always find at Nest! I DID have it in store however it was quickly snapped up. If you are lusting after Nina's bag , please let me know as I may just be able to organise it..... :)

Tan 'Nolan' Bag by Nancy Bird

So...., if you haven't met Nina you must take a peek at "Offspring". She really is lovely..and I must say there is some rather fine looking male talent on the show at the moment also! However, I do miss Doctor Chris......and I'm sure Nina does too...*sigh*
