As I sit here feeling all nostalgic, Christmas carols playing, surrounded by presents waiting to be collected, I'd just like to take a moment to wish you all a very Merry Christmas...

I would like to thank everybody for embracing Nest with as much enthusiasm as I have for this little store...I'd like to thank all of you out in blog land for your wonderful on-line support and would also like to thank all the amazing stockists that I have had the utmost pleasure in being able to meet and deal with this year. It's because of their incredible talent that Nest has grown into the little space that I love...



However you choose to spend Christmas, I hope that you have a safe and happy holiday....I too will be making the most of the holiday breaks and will be closed between 25th Dec - 5th Jan...I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause however my beautiful husband and children will be on holidays and I am choosing to spend some time with them. After all, probably more than any time of year, it's at Christmas that you reflect on how important family is.......

Just wanted to share these little guys I put together for my son's Xmas party...It's such a cute and EASY idea that I pinched from the lovely Brenda (Thanks for that find Brenda!!)....definitely scored me some brownie points with my Luke...

Looks Good Enough to Eat!

These yummy looking necklaces were created by a very clever girl named Minnette, which also happens to be the name of her divine jewellery range. I was fortunate to discover Minnette's work as her lovely Aunt happens to be a Penguin local! As well as these divine lolly pendants, she also has a gorgeous line of sterling silver rings, earrings, cuff links and brooches. She also makes the little daisy earrings pictured which just happen to be hand crocheted from recycled plastic!! I have a variety of colours in store including the pink, purple, red, yellow and my favourite, white...As far as I'm aware, I am the only store in Tassie to stock 'Minette' so be sure to pop in for a closer look.

With only 9 sleeps till Christmas {!} these scrummy little treats would make very fun stocking fillers.....

A Time for Giving....

The other day I was reading my friend Rosie's gorgeous blog, Notions, and was truly inspired to read of her generous donation to CARE Australia. This year I've decided to do the same....I'm a true believer in that you give and get back, and it is something I've always preached to my children...

This year as part of our children's Christmas gifts I have chosen to give to a community that may not necessarily have the little things that we take so easily for granted...And I'm not talking TV's or IPODS!...I'm referring to the simple things such as fresh water. For my gift I chose to give fresh water to a family and a first aid kit to a community...

Not sure exactly how the kiddies will react to this idea, however, I am determined that our children will grow up knowing how important it is to give to others and that it may not always come back to you in a material form, but it will come back to you.....xx
